Liar's Lies

Start a game

Use Create Room → Add bot → Start Game. New and recreated rooms open with only their creator, ready by default. The host can add up to bots from the host-only actions row below the player list. Each numbered bot shows Automatic bot and a Remove button for the host; removing one preserves the other bots. Registered rooms have no human seat limit. Once at least two participants are present and every human is ready, the host selects Start Game. Adding a bot never starts play. Joining closes when play begins. All rooms remain public to view.

Bid or call Liar!

Secretly roll your dice. On your turn, bid on all players’ dice combined, or challenge the previous bid with Liar! A bid of “four threes” claims at least four dice showing 3, including any wildcards. Raise the quantity and choose any face, or keep the quantity and increase the face. After four threes, four fours or five ones are legal; three sixes and four twos are not.

Bid only on numbered faces 1–6, with a quantity from 1 through the total dice in play. You may jump to any legal higher bid. Dice stay fixed during bidding. Only you can see your current dice; spectators see counts.

On wide screens, the first gameplay row contains the bidding controls, player cards, and Round/Time/Continue metrics, from left to right. Round reveal spans the width below them. Narrow screens stack these boxes in the same order. Your private dice and the current bid appear in player cards, and a preview describes your selected bid.

Resolve the challenge

Reveal every hand. If matching faces plus * meet or exceed the bid, the challenger loses. Otherwise the bidder loses. The loser surrenders exactly one die under the room’s Penalty. Zero dice means elimination. The last player with dice wins. Eliminated players can keep watching.

Turns move clockwise. The first opener is random. The challenge loser opens next round; if eliminated, the next surviving player opens. Everyone rerolls their remaining dice. The previous reveal remains available separately from the next round’s private hands.

Each reveal summarizes the bid, outcome, and penalty. Highlighted numbered dice and wildcards count toward the challenged bid. Round reveal shows a table with Username, Dice, and Bids columns. Each row contains one player’s revealed hand and their bids in chronological order, or a dash if they made none. This completed-round table stays available when the next round begins. Current-round bid history stays hidden during bidding, so players must remember earlier bids themselves.

Timers and continuation

A timeout calls Liar! when a bid exists, or bids one 1 when opening. Disconnection leaves the timer active. Continue defaults to Auto and remembers your preference. Manual offers Agree to next round; unanimous agreement starts early, otherwise the break timer starts the round. Switching to Manual does not revoke an agreement. Bots agree automatically. Resigned and eliminated players are excluded. During a non-final break, if the last human loses all dice and only bots remain, all remaining participants have already agreed, so the next round starts immediately without waiting for the rest of the break. Final results use a separate fixed three-second reveal.

Resignation and rankings

Resigning fixes the next lowest available rank and removes your remaining dice. An unfinished round restarts for the remaining players. The survivor ranks first, the last eliminated player second, and so on. The final Dice progress chart shows each player’s authoritative dice counts over the rounds.

ELO and guest play

ELO uses Hold’em’s pairwise finishing-position calculation, recorded once under Liar’s Lies. Bots remain at ELO 1500; one human against bots has zero ELO change. The ELO changes preview lets you explore finishing orders while finalized ranks remain fixed.

Guests create a waiting room and add bots before starting an unrated game; other settings remain editable. Guest-created rooms cannot be joined remotely by registered players or other guests, even before adding bots or after removing them. Guests can read chat but cannot post. There are no same-device seats. Each bot uses only its own dice and public information.

Back to Rulebook Game lobby

After the final round or hand, Continue applies to showing results. Auto agrees automatically; Manual shows “Agree to show results”. Non-resigned participants who entered the final round or hand remain eligible even if eliminated by its settlement. The configured break is the timeout fallback. Scores and ELO are settled immediately; only the reveal waits.
